Titan will host DNS records on our nameservers
(free of charge) for any domains held by customers with dedicated
or colocated servers. Why go to the hassle of setting up your own
DNS servers when we will do it for you. Alternatively if a customer
wishes to configure a machine as primary DNS we are quite happy
to be the secondary.
Custom zonefiles are no problem - we are quite
happy to add in extra host records or to point your MX records to
your own mailserver.
All dedicated/colocation servers will be configured
to perform host lookups from our caching nameservers via our local
(private) network. This ensures guaranteed DNS lookups over a fast
connection - the bandwidth used does not count towards your monthly
allowance as its on a separate network.
Titan will also provide your server with an
SMTP feed if required. Similarly the connection is via our local
(private) network and the traffic does not count towards your monthly
allowance of bandwidth.
All outgoing email is automatically scanned
for viruses by our mailserver so you can be confident of what email
content you are sending out to end users.
For customers who do not wish to run their own
mailserver we are happy to provide POP3 services in addition to
an SMTP feed. This is charged at the rate of £0.50 per mailbox
per month. You do not need to dialup over our internet access products
in order to use SMTP or POP3, it is a completely open service to
authorised users.
